There are certain situations when installing split systems into residential homes that require making sure that the drainage from the unit does not become a nuisance or a danger to the residents. This back to back installation has a few differences than a standard back to back. For one, we needed to make sure that the ducting was able to make I past the carport roof and also miss the gate as well. Fortunately there was just enough space to fit it and locate the wall mounted air conditioner underneath the carport. A great location to make sure the unit is out of the weather and also neatly tucked away next to an external chimney wall. This is one of the reasons it is important to hire the right split system installers who are aware of the requirements that make things run smoother.

One issue was the drainage of the  water out of the system. The gate impeded the ability to run the drain hose out of the bottom of the unit to the back garden. Originally the client wanted to mount the air conditioner on the ground but the solution to the drainage issue was to wall mount the air conditioner instead so that it was up high enough to allow us to drill through the brick work and and have enough fall to run the drain under the house and to the back garden area.

Once it was all installed the client was very happy to have gone with our suggestion and eliminate any water from dripping onto the driveway area.
