What Our Customers Say

  • Jason had already installed a split system in the main bedroom in 2018. I was very impressed with the quality of his work, so I had him come out and install split systems in the other 2 bedrooms. The units look great in the bedrooms and the external units have been expertly installed. I would highly recommend his professionalism, and at a competitive price.

Amazing service at great price. Jason is very professional, knowledgeable and easy to deal with and unlike some tradies he is punctual. Also his work is very neat and tidy if it weren't for the fact there was a split system on the wall you couldn't even tell he had been there - there was absolutely no mess left behind. Fantastic job, very happy and would highly recommend.

I couldn't have been happier with the service that was provided to me; will recommend to family and friends and use Current Force in the future.

Evaporative Coolers: Affordable Comfort for the Whole Home

Keeping your house cool during a Melbourne summer shouldn’t mean dreading your next electricity bill. That is where evaporative cooling comes in. It is widely considered the most natural and cost-effective way to cool an entire home. At Current Force, we stock a solid lineup of reliable units that are perfect for our climate. Instead of bottling up stale air like a fridge, these systems flush your home with a constant stream of fresh, cool air. It is a completely different feeling. It is less like an office and more like a sea breeze.

What Makes Them The Ultimate Choice?

You Will Save Money The main reason most people switch to evaporative cooling is the running cost. It is incredibly cheap to run compared to refrigerated air conditioning. Because the system is basically just a fan and a water pump, it doesn’t chew through power, meaning you can run it all day without stressing about the cost.

Doors and Windows Stay Open This is a huge lifestyle plus. With standard air con, you have to seal yourself in. With an evaporative system, it actually works better if you crack a few windows or leave the back door open. It pushes the hot, stale air out and replaces it with fresh air, so your home never feels stuffy.

Better for the Environment If you are trying to be a bit greener, this is the way to go. It uses water as the primary cooling method rather than chemical refrigerants. Combine that with the low power usage, and your carbon footprint drops significantly compared to other cooling methods.

Cooling in Every Room Don’t let the simplicity fool you; this is still a whole-home solution. We use ducting to route that cool airflow into every room, so you don’t have to fight over who gets to sit in the cool spot.

How It Works

The concept is actually really old and very effective. You have a unit on the roof that draws hot, dry air from outside. This air passes through wet filter pads, and the water evaporates naturally, pulling the heat out of the air instantly. A fan then pushes this cool air down the ducts and fills your home.

It is important to know that this tech loves hot, dry weather. That is why it is so popular in Melbourne. On those scorching, dry January days, it works like a charm. It can struggle a little bit when it is extremely humid and muggy, just because the air is already wet, but for the vast majority of the Australian summer, it is a brilliant performer.

Common Questions

Actually, it is one of the most affordable options to install. It is almost always cheaper upfront than a full refrigerated ducted system. The final price tag depends on your home's layout and the number of points you need, but if you upload your plans to our site, we can give you a concrete number pretty quickly.

This is where they really shine. Because the system is mechanically simple, mostly just a fan and a pump, it uses a tiny amount of electricity compared to a split system or refrigerated unit. You can run it all summer without dreading the bill.

It definitely prefers dry heat. When the air is already thick with moisture (humid), the evaporation process isn't as efficient, so the air coming out won't feel quite as crisp. Since Melbourne summers are mostly dry, it is a perfect match, though it might feel a little less powerful on those rare muggy afternoons.

We recommend getting a pro to look at it every year or two. The filter pads act like a sponge for dust and pollen, so they need a clean or replacement eventually to keep the air fresh and the system running efficiently.
